have a happy marriage
develop shared meaning & goals
You may have arrived here if you (or your spouse)…
- There’s a lack of teamwork when it comes to parenting, extended family, or overall marital health
- Have frequent disagreements about individual goals, roles, or visions for the future
- Do not see eye-to-eye about the meanings of home, money, love, etc.
Being on different paths can feel like a sign of incompatibility. Read on to see if my services can help transform stagnation into an intimate partnership for healing and growth.
You might find it difficult to ask for what you need.
Past experiences of voicing your desires, values, or goals may have conditioned you to keep those preferences buried inside to avoid a fight.
There is still that glimmer of hope that someday there will be time and undivided attention to deep dive into your life’s purpose, values that shape your choices, and meanings that you derive from ways we connect.
Your relationship needs space to detach from life’s responsibilities and focus on the happy marriage you and your spouse want to design.
I help couples honor each other's dreams.
When your relationship is secure in friendship, trust, and commitment the ability to be more vulnerable becomes less of a personal risk.
I will help you and your spouse express your feelings, understand deeper meanings, and explore areas of flexibility to honor one another’s dreams.
Having a happy marriage is possible and workable.
Yes! We will be meeting completely online through video conferencing. All you need is to find a comfy spot at home, grab a beverage, and click on your personalized appointment link to join our HIPAA-secure couples session.
In case you do not know, counseling license laws vary from state to state. As long as both you and your partner are physically in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and/or Indiana, we can meet for counseling.
To create a more positive shift in the relationship, it’s best to meet weekly for 5-6 weeks before we schedule more distance in between sessions. The average length of time a couple is in therapy is anywhere from 4-6+ months, depending on the goals and progress.
Each appointment lasts 90-minutes so that we can leverage time in working through goals.
In a brief statement, it is a structured approach to couples counseling that integrates research-based interventions to increase closeness and friendship, address conflict productively, and build a life of shared meaning.
I will introduce you to tools to disarm conflicting verbal communication, increase intimacy, respect, and affection, and create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship.
Each 90-minute appointment costs $175 and payment is due immediately following each session. Major credit cards, debit cards, HSA, or FSA cards are accepted.
At this time, I do not accept medical insurance.
The total expected costs for participating in couples counseling could be between $1,750-$3,500 for 10-20 sessions in a year.
